FAQs

All your Dermaplaning questions answered.

What is electrolysis?

Electrolysis is a non-invasive treatment that uses a device with a handheld applicator to convey electricity into the hair follicle or to the surface of the skin. It can be used to target hair reduction or to remove skin lesions.

Is it safe?

Yes, Electrolysis is a safe procedure when performed by a trained and experienced professional. At Dr Ana – The Skin Clinic, all our practitioners are highly trained and we operate to clinical-grade standards of care.

Will Electrolysis work on light or grey hairs?

Yes. As electrolysis targets the actual hair follicle it is the only effective treatment for the reduction of light or grey hairs.

Can I wear makeup after Electrolysis?

You can wear makeup the day after after electrolysis. On the day of the treatment we ask that you keep the treatment area sterile and clean to avoid the risk of infection.

Is Electrolysis suitable for all skin types?

Electrolysis is suitable for most skin types, including sensitive skin. However, it may not be recommended for those with active acne or severe rosacea. A consultation with our experts will determine if dermaplaning is right for you.
